2019 – Another successful year at Southern Marquees…

2019 has been a very interesting year with some challenging weather and tricky locations but all resulting in some amazing photos together with some lovely letters!

A pretty terraced garden in Stockbridge was the location for a beautiful spring wedding and an interesting introduction to our new seasonal workers putting them straight in at the deep end! No time for easing the team in gently this year! Headed by Mark and Ben the build involved countless processions delivering the marquee equipment along the zigzag of walkways to its destination almost 50 feet above.  To complete the build, a walkway of carpet was painstakingly pinned to the lawn providing an easier walk for the guests entering the marquee. I am sure you will agree that the marquee looked stunning! Please scroll through the gallery below for more images of the marquee …

We love parties and the 50th birthday party in May involved covering a swimming pool to create an amazing party space! This lovely letter is testament to the success of the party;

Dear all,

Thank you so much for the excellent service provided by your team. We couldn’t have been more pleased and the marquee provided the perfect setting for our party. The fairy lights and the paper lanterns were just perfect and it looked so pretty at night.

A “Huge Thank You” to you all.

With weddings ultimately what we specialise in, our first wedding at the beautiful Stansted Park this June was for lovely Emma and and Rob. This stunning view of our marquee on the south lawn as the sun was setting was captured by  Charlotte Wise Photography.

With the recent strong winds throwing us a wild card, it happened to be on one of or busiest wedding weekends and all withstood the gales and everyone had a brilliant time! Below are some photos from one of the wedding marquees that weekend and if they aren’t enough proof that all went well, we received this lovely letter too;

Hi Mandy & Hugh,
We have been meaning to send this for a while but just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you at Southern Marquees.
From the very beginning you have been so helpful, you knew exactly what would work and the marquee looked absolutely beautiful.
It was extremely windy on our wedding day but Mark and the team went the extra mile to make sure everything was just right and really helped to put our minds at ease.
We have received some lovely photos of the marquee which I thought I would share with you…
Thanks again
Best wishes
Cassie & Aaron xx

It was lovely to see the weather calming down and summer returning in time for a beautiful wedding yards from the beach in Stokes Bay. The marquee was decorated to compliment the seaside location and even our carpet looked like golden sand!

This fabulous wedding marquee pictured below was the second we have provided for the same family and looked so beautiful with the pealights in the linings and star cloth over the dance floor:

This amazing transformation of the local village hall in Warsash ended the month of September with a beautiful marquee style wedding including ivory wall linings, starlight roof and chandeliers!

In mid-October, we provided a marquee for yet another birthday party – this time for a 60th birthday celebration. The marquee provided a fabulous space to celebrate with a meal and I am sure the jukebox got everyone kicking off their shoes later!

As we come to the end of another successful year, we are working hard in the office preparing quotes, visiting gardens and venues and meeting the lovely couples and families that will make up the 2020 season!
